"As to about Pakistani columnist Anas Mallick, I have quite recently conversed with him on telephone momentarily. He is in Kabul and safe. Government office will stay in contact with him," the agent said on Twitter.

Mallick disappeared on Thursday in the wake of documenting a tale about the 'safehouse' where Al-Qaeda boss Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in a robot strike.
"We at the Foreign Office are profoundly worried about the vanishing of Anas Mallick, FO journalist, from Kabul yesterday," the Foreign Office had said in a proclamation on Twitter after reports arose that he is absent.
